Owen Morgan as Bert in Cobra Kai[/caption]
To start the list we have Bert, a supporting character in the plot who serves more as comic relief in various moments. But that's not why off-screen
Owen Morgan, the actor who plays Bert, would shy away from dedication.
Besides fighting karate, Owen is also the only cast member who holds a black belt and continues to practice regularly. Maybe this could even be explored in future seasons with his character getting more spotlight.
Jacob Bertrand (Hawk)

One of the characters who has undergone the most changes since the beginning of the series, Hawk, played by
Jacob Bertrand, is also one of the most beloved characters. And just like in the series, the actor also trains in karate and is currently at the purple belt level, which comes right before the black belt.
Tanner Buchanan (Robby)

Loved by some and hated by others, Robby is a character who certainly makes fans change their opinion about him throughout the episodes. Played by
Tanner Buchanan, Robby is a karate genius, and what's most interesting about this is the fact that his actor already has prior experience with another martial art.
When he was between 10 and 12 years old, Buchanan practiced Taekwondo and even came close to earning his black belt. Besides that, the actor's mother achieved a black belt in Taekwondo.
Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver)

Moving to the veteran guard, we have the main villain from the third film in the saga and also from the 4th season of
Cobra Kai. Played by
Thomas Ian Griffith, Terry Silver is known for his ruthless style of teaching his students, but in real life the story is completely different.
Besides practicing karate, the
Karate Kid actor also practiced Taekwondo. Ian Griffith holds black belts in both martial arts. For the actor, practicing martial arts is a form of therapy for his life.
William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence)

William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence in Cobra Kai[/caption]
The main driver of
Cobra Kai's story in the first season, Johnny Lawrence is a fan favorite. Coming from the original
Karate Kid,
William Zabka brought karate into his life after the first film in the saga.
When he acted in the original
Karate Kid, Zabka had no knowledge of martial arts while playing Johnny Lawrence. After meeting
Pat Johnson, the tournament referee from the first film, Zabka began practicing karate until he reached his green belt. However, the actor's goal is to achieve his black belt.
