Marvel's first super-hero is Namor, the Sub-Mariner, the prince of Atlantis. A stubborn leader with impressive powers, Namor has been one of the pillars of Marvel since his debut in Marvel Comics #1.
Namor is a heroic character whose arrogance and desire to protect Atlantis have historically led him into conflict with many other Marvel super-heroes. Unlike Aquaman, Namor's greatest enemies are on both sides of the heroic divide.

Namor's Greatest Enemies
Fantastic Four
While Namor may have helped create Marvel in the 1930s, it was the Fantastic Four whose appearances in the 1960s made the company what it is today.
Following Namor's unsuccessful declaration of war on the surface world, Namor and the Fantastic Four remained on the same side. However, Namor harbors a special enmity for Reed Richards and affection for the Invisible Woman, a tension that continues to be a critical dynamic in their relationships.

Supreme Squadron
Not all of Namor's enemies are singular individuals: in addition to being in constant conflict with world governments and evil energy corporations, Namor counts the multidimensional counterpart of the Justice League, the Supreme Squadron, among his enemies.
As part of the Cabal, Namor destroyed several parallel worlds, including that of Doctor Spectrum. Following the events of Secret Wars, the Supreme Squadron assassinated Namor and destroyed Atlantis to prevent him from causing further damage. Namor was brought back to life through time travel and the Squadron was apprehended by the Avengers.

Black Panther
Like Doctor Doom, Black Panther is another monarch of Marvel Comics with strong ties to the Fantastic Four. However, Black Panther is decidedly more heroic than Doctor Doom or Namor. The relationship between T'Challa and Namor is complicated: though recent years have focused on their enmity, the two have always come together.
What makes Black Panther a greater enemy of Namor than other intermittent foes is what Namor did to him. During the events of Avengers vs. X-Men, Namor destroyed much of Wakanda with a tidal wave, forever altering his relationship with Wakanda's warrior king.
