House of the Dragon: Understanding the Targaryen Family Tree
With the arrival of the Game of Thrones spin-off, HBO's new series, House of the Dragon, will showcase one of the most powerful and conflict-ridden families in Westeros, the House of Targaryen.
The Targaryen family gained great prominence with Daenerys, and in GOT the family's history was always remembered for its major milestones, such as ruling the Iron Throne for almost 300 years and of course, the well-known "Dance of the Dragons," a conflict among the Targaryens themselves to determine who would sit on the Iron Throne, resulting in much of the family being decimated.
