5 bizarre moments from House of the Dragon that made fans way too uncomfortable

It's standard practice that series produced by HBO have an age rating for audiences eighteen and older and contain numerous scenes of violence, sex, and gore.
Well, that wasn't different in House of the Dragon, and it shouldn't have been, since this type of scene in historical series like this makes all the difference, placing much greater immersion in the product.

However, some fans ended up feeling way too uncomfortable with some scenes present in House of the Dragon, even thinking that they might have been somewhat unnecessary, perhaps not in terms of narrative, but visually.
Some think the scenes are there in good measure, while others believe they could only be mentioned in a way that wouldn't make the audience uncomfortable, or could even be removed from the series entirely.
Discover below in our little list which bizarre moments we're talking about:
5 bizarre moments from House of the Dragon that made fans uncomfortable
1 - Queen Aemma Aryn's cesarean section
Already in the premiere episode of House of the Dragon fans can witness a scene that might end up being quite uncomfortable for some. King Viserys I needs to make a difficult decision that could even result in loss of life, and that's exactly what happens.
He needs to decide whether he would save the life of his wife or his son, who wasn't in a favorable position for birth. He then decides, without much hesitation, to perform the cesarean section on Queen Aemma while she's still conscious.
In the end, after we see the queen suffer greatly, both she and her son end up passing away.

2 - The sadism of villain Craghas Drahar
The villain Craghas Drahar, also called the Crab Feeder, appears for the first time in House of the Dragon right at the end of the second episode of the first season.
He appears quite mysteriously, wearing some kind of mask while surrounded by numerous tortured bodies.
Actually, the bodies are likely that way because of him, since the Crab Feeder has a method of ambushing sailors so they can be devoured by crabs and end up drowning in the tide.

3 - The sex scene between Alicent and King Viserys
As mentioned earlier, sex scenes tend to always be present in major HBO productions, just as they were in Game of Thrones and return in House of the Dragon.
During the fourth episode of the series, we witnessed an uncomfortable sex scene between Alicent and King Viserys, right after seeing Rhaenyra and her uncle, Daemon, having fun in one of the city's brothels.
A sex scene isn't necessarily uncomfortable, but what makes this one so is that besides there being an abrupt cut to show it, not only do the characters, but the actors also have a significant age difference, since Emily Carey, who plays Alicent, is 19 years old, and Paddy Considine, who plays King Viserys, is 49 years old—30 years older than the young actress.

4 - Aegon masturbating in the window of the Tower
In House of the Dragon the character of Aegon ended up being somewhat reworked. That's because in George RR Martin's books he's just a moody and lazy teenager, something that is changed in the series.
Throughout the series he's literally unpleasant in numerous ways, constantly playing tricks on his younger brother Aemond whenever possible.
In the sixth episode of House of the Dragon he continues with his unpleasant manner, but in another way, as we start to see some of his sexual interests. In a scene where his mother enters the room to encourage him to claim the Iron Throne, we see him masturbating in the window.
This is a scene that fans found unpleasant, unnecessary, and that adds nothing to the narrative of House of the Dragon.

5 - The "foot pack"
Did you think you'd seen enough bizarre moments? Well, it seems there was more. The foot pack is real, and even in times when there were no smartphones, it already existed.
In a scene from the penultimate episode of the first season, we saw Alicent and Larys Strong, now Lord of the House, in quite a spicy conversation.
Larys now plays an important role for the kingdom, being an important source of information, and he takes advantage of this privilege. Alicent gets the information she would like, but in exchange for a favor: having intimate and sexual relations with Lord Strong.
In the scene we see Alicent remove her shoes, exposing her feet to Larys, who, well, has a certain fetish for that, and would definitely buy the famous "foot pack" if he were alive today.
