Relationships between family members are common among the Targaryens
Despite the scene having frightened many viewers, relationships between members of the Targaryen family are common, being widely discussed even in the seriesGame of Thrones. Throughout the family's history, several of its members had sexual relations with other family members, which was not even a rare situation.
After abandoning Rhaenyra at the brothel, many fans of the production wondered what Daemon's real plan was, and after what happened he went to drink at the taverns of King's Landing.
What was Daemon's real intention?
After what happened, one of Otto Hightower's spies told the Hand of the King about it, and he quickly went to tell King Viserys, who investigated the matter. Without wasting time, the king ended up speaking with Rhaenyra, telling her that he was disappointed with her, and she denied having any relationship with her uncle.
However, Daemon's plan was not only to seduce Rhaenyra, but also to anger his brother, since both are engaged in a dispute over the Iron Throne. Besides angering his brother, Daemon wanted to get closer to the heir of Westeros, since until then she is the one expected to replace Viserys as ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
Furthermore, Daemon's act shows that he cares about his niece, and that he should stand by her side when the war between Rhaenyra and Aegon II begins in the HBO series.
