Like other post-apocalyptic games such as The Last Of Us, gathering resources is fundamental for survival. Because much like the zombie game, A Plague Tale: Requiem has item crafting and requires players to use it as quickly as possible.
This allows them to be more diverse with how they get through each level, and since rats represent a major threat, this time, creating bombs or things that can help Amicia defend herself and her brother are even more important for their survival.

A Plague Tale: Requiem has a more displaced tone - which includes combat - that is based on the story because this way of playing impacts Amicia and is part of her evolution. However, this doesn't mean the game has completely abandoned the stealth aspect.
