Amazon Prime will soon add another series to its catalog. It is Rubi, an adaptation of the famous Mexican soap opera originally starring Barbara Mori. This time, actress Camila Sodi will play the villain. See the poster:
Additionally, Camila Sodi is the niece of Thalia, a singer and actress who starred in renowned Mexican soap operas on Televisa.
The series is produced by Univision in the United States and features José Ron, Kimberly dos Ramos, and Rodrigo Guirao in the cast.
The story follows the titular character Rubi. Coming from a humble background, the ambitious young woman will stop at nothing to achieve the wealth she desires. Willing to do anything, she will betray family, friends, and even her own heart, disregarding those she truly loves. She is a villainous protagonist who is also extremely seductive.
The series will have 25 episodes and is already airing on the Univision channel. However, it has no announced premiere date yet on the streaming platform's catalog.
