Avengers: Infinity War premiered breaking box office records. With a complex and multifaceted villain, the film presented the antagonist Thanos with political ideals about dominating the universe and his respective conquered planets.
Contextualizing the political polarity of today's world and the inconsistency of what is right or wrong for society, we ask: What would be Thanos's political position?
He wants to promote such order by decimating half or a good part of the inhabitants that he deems necessary so that the planet's resources are sufficient for those who inhabit it. All with the snap of a finger.
Another fact that links him to fascism is that he is the sovereign over all his conquests and that they owe him obedience. There is no room for democracy.

The answer can be a bit more complex than it seems. That's because from left to right there is a spectrum of governmental positions that can cross and diverge at several points. In a simple analysis, we basically have on the left positions such as: progressives, social liberals, environmentalists, social democrats, democratic socialists, libertarian socialists, secularists, socialists, communists, and even anarchists. Already in the spectrum of the right we find by common sense positions linked to capitalists, neoliberals, reactionary conservatives, neoconservatives, anarchocapitalists, monarchists, and theocrats. These positions cross and diverge on issues ranging from democratic (presence or absence of it), religious, behavioral, and even hereditary. Therefore, if you're already associating the fearless villain of Infinity War with some popular candidate or political party, hold on because the subject is much deeper than that.

According to Joseph Gr'cic in Ethics and Political Theory, fascism is the regime where through a totalitarian state devotion to a strong leader is promoted, using political violence, war, and imperialism as means to achieve a greater objective. The same regime also states that nations and races considered superior should obtain space by displacing or eliminating those considered weak or inferior. The regime is still framed in the far-right spectrum. Thanos, as presented in the film, describes well what he wants: to promote order on conquered planets, ensuring a good life for all their inhabitants by disposing of sufficient resources so that those who live there can be free from hardships.
