Will Me Before You 2 Be Released?

The romantic drama featured Emilia Clarke, from Game Of Thrones, in the role of the quirky Louise, Sam Claflin, from About Time and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as the charming Will Traynor, and Matthew Lewis, Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter saga, as Patrick, Louise's athletic boyfriend.

The film was a huge success, resulting in a box office of 208 million dollars, and the film is constantly remembered in the media.

The inspiration for Louise and Will

Me Before You is based on a romance novel of the same name by journalist Jojo Moyes, released in 2012. In 2015, the author released the sequel to the book, called After You, and in 2018, she released the third book, Still Me. With the sequel to the book, fans of the trilogy had hope that the other books would also be adapted for the cinema.

At the time of the film's release, with the success it achieved, there were reports that Emilia and Sam would return for the film sequel to Me Before You, but the planning didn't go forward. Obviously, fans of the trilogy went looking for answers and asked the author. At the time, Jojo Moyes responded that the adaptation of the books After You and Still Me would depend on the actors' free schedules. At the time of release, Emilia Clarke was still very busy filming Game Of Thrones.

Jojo Moyes' books

The trilogy was a success, selling over 5 million copies. Me Before You tells the love story of William Traynor, a charming and wealthy man who, while leaving home on a rainy morning, suffers a traffic accident and becomes a paraplegic. Will's parents are searching for a caregiver for their son. After several dismissals, William meets Louise, who arrives with her colorful clothes and good humor. The book follows the development of Will and Lou's feelings.

In 2021, another book by Jojo Moyes was adapted for the cinema. The Last Letter from Your Lover hit theaters in 2021. With Shailene Woodley, from The Fault in Our Stars, and Felicity Jones, from Star Wars: Rogue One, being cast in the roles of Jennifer and Ellie. Along with Joe Alwyn, from The Favourite, Callum Turner, from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education, and Nabhaan Rizwan, from Informer.

The Last Letter from Your Lover was released in 2016 by Intrínseca publishing house, and follows two timelines of Jennifer Stirling, who wakes up with no memory in London in the 1960s. Jennifer then discovers thousands of love letters to a man named Anthony O'Hare. 40 years later, Ellie Haworth finds the same letters and decides to investigate and discover the author and who they were dedicated to.
