Stealth games can be some of the most challenging and frustrating experiences out there. They require a lot of patience, since waiting is a big part of the game and that's not how everyone likes to play. However, most stealth games allow players to approach situations their own way, like the Metal Gear franchise.
Unfortunately, there are no Metal Gear games on Xbox Game Pass currently, but that could change over time. This entire list can change at any moment, but for now, these games are ready and waiting for stealth fans on the Xbox console platform.

Dishonored
Dishonored was one that offered players a ton of options. Players could kill every enemy they encountered with their weapons, but there was also a way to eliminate them stealthily. Enemies can be hypnotized to fall asleep, or weapons can knock them down in non-lethal ways as well.
With tons of weapons and powers at the player's disposal, you can play through the game multiple times and come out like you're playing a brand new game each time. The first game is still the best in the series, but it's worth checking out the sequel which is also on Xbox Game Pass.
There are many trilogies in the franchise, but this Hitman Trilogy on Xbox Game Pass refers to the most recent trilogy that started in 2016. It was a new direction for the series, as missions were released episodically like a Telltale game.
This collection has all the complete missions in a nice package. If players somehow missed it the first time around, it's not too late to fall in love with Agent 47's antics. From becoming a drummer to solving a murder mystery or even a janitor, this bald assassin can do it all.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands took a similar approach to Destiny for this long-running franchise. Players were given an open world to traverse with the ability to take on side missions to free the country. They could light up camps with explosives like they were Bomberman, or they could sneak in quietly and eliminate enemies one by one.
Staying completely stealthy in this game was tricky, but a well-trained team in cooperative mode can make the experience more immersive. It was rough at launch, but patches have made it easier to recommend now.

Assassin's Creed Origins
Assassin's Creed Origins was the first game in the series to be a full-fledged RPG. Players now had a huge map they could explore with side missions to tackle, ranked gear to collect, and levels to progress through.
The emphasis was more on RPG elements and exploring Egypt. However, the core stealth DNA was still in the game. If players wanted to eliminate enemies silently, that was a viable plan. Overall, the game allowed more playstyles to emerge.

A Way Out
A Way Out is a prison escape scenario where two convicts try to escape and hide from the law afterward. It's a co-op only game, which means another player has to be in control of the other character.
At its core, this is a puzzle game in which players need to figure out how to get through the next situation. This also means there's a lot of stealth involved, from hiding in bushes to sneaking past security guards. The story should keep players on their toes, as there are twists around every corner.
Batman, as a character, is like a ninja, but with heavier gear. Batman: Arkham Knight, like Assassin's Creed Origins, was the more action-oriented entry in the series. It introduced the Batmobile for a new gameplay style that included racing and blowing things up.
Batman was still vulnerable, and could only take so many hits before going down. Being a stealthy bat-like ninja and becoming one with the night was the best way to approach the game's many missions.
