What is Past Lives about?
The plot follows Nora and Hae Sung, two childhood friends who grow up together in South Korea. As children, they are separated when her family decides to emigrate to Canada.
Years later, as adults, they reconnect—first through the internet and later in person in New York. However, the reunion happens at a time when their lives have already taken different paths. Nora has built a new identity, a new routine, and is married. Hae Sung, on the other hand, carries with him the memory of a connection that never disappeared.
