What is the story of Dog Hill?
The plot follows Mikolaj Glowacki, played by Mateusz Kościukiewicz, a successful writer who returns to his hometown, Zybork, after years away. The initial reason is his father Tomasz's birthday, but it quickly becomes clear that there are unresolved issues in the past.
The main trigger of the narrative is the murder of Daria, Mikolaj's former girlfriend, which occurred 18 years before. At the time, the crime was attributed to the young woman's brother, but new evidence begins to emerge, casting doubt on the entire official version.
This type of narrative — where a character returns to their place of origin to confront trauma — is common in productions of the genre, but here it gains strength through the psychological construction of characters and the oppressive atmosphere of the city.
