Review of the Film "Tess" (1979) by Roman Polanski

"Tess" is a romantic drama film directed by Roman Polanski, released in 1979. Based on the novel "Tess of the d'Urbervilles" by Thomas Hardy, the film tells the story of Tess Durbeyfield, a young peasant who discovers she is descended from a noble family.

Tess is sent to work at the d'Urberville house, where she becomes involved with Alec, the eldest son of the family. After a tragic event, the young woman flees and finds refuge on a farm, where she meets Angel Clare, by whom she falls in love.
