I Am Legend 2 should arrive only in 2025
Confirmed last year, I Am Legend 2 still doesn't have much information revealed, but we know that the feature film will feature the return of Will Smith and the addition of Michael B. Jordan. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that the project will follow the alternate ending of the film, which was revealed in the deleted scenes from the DVD.In the original plot, the character sacrifices himself to save the cure, unlike the alternate version, where he survives and his ending is more similar to the book from the 50s. As far as we understand, the script is in development, and is inspired by The Last of Us, with filming expected to begin later this year. Taking that into account, plus the fact that Akiva Goldsman is also currently working on a sequel for Constantine (2005), it seems that the feature film won't be arriving before 2024. Expecting a few months of filming, a late 2024 release would be the best bet, but taking into account the film's heavy use of CGI, an I Am Legend 2 release in 2025 would make more sense. At this time, the feature film is also still without a director, with Francis Lawrence's return behind the camera for the film also uncertain. Not only that, but Michael B. Jordan's role also remains a secret in the plot of I Am Legend 2, as does its passage of time of about 3 decades since the original film's release.
