Chagas' video also analyzes the iconic final scene of the film, in which Pearl smiles when she sees her husband return from the war. According to the psychologist, this scene reveals a common characteristic of psychopaths: superficial charm.
Interestingly, the smile came from improvisation. Mia Goth, the lead actress in the film "Pearl," embraced intuition and spontaneity in the iconic scene where her character smiles upon seeing her husband return from the war.
The actress preferred to trust her instincts and emotions rather than intellectualize the scene, resulting in an impactful and cathartic performance that aims to connect with truth and honesty, making viewers not feel alone.
