Third film in the franchise may explain the hero's longevity
In the third film of the franchise, we see Indiana Jones searching for the Holy Grail, which legend says would grant immortality to whoever used it. Despite evidence suggesting that the artifact does not grant immortality to Jones, he may have acquired supernatural powers.
In The Last Crusade it is specified that the Holy Grail only grants immortality to those who don't leave its temple, where Jones tries to save his father and ends up losing the artifact. However, before Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the hero's father ends up dying, which shows that immortality is out of the question.

However, at the beginning of the fourth film in the franchise, Indiana Jones ends up showing that he could have acquired great powers. In an infamous scene, the protagonist saves himself from a massive explosion by hiding in a simple refrigerator, proving that he would have divine protection. Furthermore, his contact with the Holy Grail could also have given him great longevity, since he continued his adventures in the fourth and now in the fifth film of the franchise, with the same performance he had in the first film.
Despite the theory, Lucasfilm has not commented on the matter, but the fifth film in the franchise will arrive in 2023 with Jones in the same health condition as in 1989.
