The success of 'The Nun' (check out our review) is just getting started and speculation about a possible sequel is already heating up. It's about the story of French farmer Maurice, played by
Jonas Bloquet in The Nun.
SPOILER ALERT!
For those who've seen the film, the ending serves as both a hook and a connection to the story of French farmer Maurice, introduced in the first Conjuring film. He was possessed by a demon that made inverted crosses stand out on his body. A remnant of Valak, who from then on became familiar to Lorraine Warren (
Vera Farmiga) in The Conjuring 2.

Besides that,
James Wan had already said that if The Nun succeeded, the possibility of a sequel was imminent:
"I know where potentially, if The Nun does well, The Nun 2 could go and how that relates to Lorraine's story that we've built with the first two Conjurings and make everything come full circle." - He told The Hollywood Reporter.
Another piece of evidence that could fuel speculation about Maurice being the protagonist is Ed Warren's statement back in The Conjuring.
"He tried to kill his wife, but instead, he shot her in the arm and turned the gun on himself." Ed explained in The Conjuring, and continued. "Maurice had a very troubled life with little to live for and not even an exorcist could bring him back."
Speculation aside, The Nun continues to play in Brazilian movie theaters.
