Following the surprising success of X, Ti West and Mia Goth return to the slasher genre with Pearl. A prequel to X, Pearl serves as an origin story for the villain of the film. Featuring a stellar performance by Goth and an unhinged story that will keep fans on the edge of their seats, Pearl is a worthy entry to the genre.

X (2022)
Ti West impressed earlier this year with X, also starring Mia Goth. The plot revolves around a group seeking to film a pornographic movie at the isolated rural home of an elderly couple. However, their ambitions soon become a nightmare when they become targets of an unidentified killer.
The traditional slasher formula is represented in 1974 with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Centered on a group of friends who become victims of a family of cannibals, the film features the now-iconic character Leatherface, one of cinema's most enduring villains.

House of Wax (1953)
