One of the shocking plot twist moments is the arrest of Cal Jacobs (Eric Dane), after his son Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) confronts him and reveals that he turned over videos to the police of his father having relations with minors while recording without their consent. While confronting his father, Nate had brought a gun in his pocket, which many ended up expecting him to shoot Cal with, but the gun ended up staying in his pocket the whole time, not showing it to his father. In an interview with Variety, Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs, comments on this scene and answers why Nate brought the gun to the confrontation with his father, stating that he is unbalanced and terrified, not knowing how it would end.

"He probably isn't sure how it's going to go. He's terrified of his father, and a big part of him wants to kill his father – to put a bullet in the head of his demons. He's also at a point of no return, and he's completely unraveling at that point."

Having released its first season in 2019, the series created by Sam Levinson and with an average 88% approval rating from critics and audiences, according to Rotten Tomatoes, is headlined by Zendaya (Rue) and Hunter Schafer (Jules) and has the following official synopsis:
