The princess's rescue
At a certain moment, Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) disrupts the peacefulness of Obi-Wan's life. This happens because Bail needs Kenobi to go rescue Leia, who was kidnapped in a scheme set up by the Inquisitor, the Third Sister, Reva (Moses Ingram), so they could lure him in.
The Jedi does everything necessary to bring the princess back home, which creates a strong bond between the duo.
A risky journey
Tala was one of many people that Obi-Wan and Leia met during their journey. People who ended up becoming great allies.
Even though they spent little time together, Leia develops great admiration for Tala. Among the various reasons for this admiration, the fact that Tala is extremely brave and always makes the right choices stands out. In her final act of loyalty, Tala sacrifices herself to keep the refugees safe. And with her untimely death, Leia ends up inheriting Tala's holster.
An inspiration for Leia
Even though the character was never brought to the original trilogy, in an unknown and somewhat curious way, Tala's holster is extremely important to Star Wars in a general sense.
She probably was the one who inspired Leia to wear the holster properly during the fight she participated in with Luke, Han, and the members of the Rebellion against the Empire in Return of the Jedi.
Of all of Leia's remarkable and iconic moments, this was the only one where she seemed to be wearing the holster.
