Meet "Prison Playbook," the Netflix prison dorama that mixes comedy and drama
For those who enjoy series that touch the soul and bring lots of reflection, but who also don't give up on good, lighthearted comedy, one of our recommendations this week goes to the hit "Prison Playbook," which is available on Netflix. The dorama is from South Korea and aired in 2018, with one season consisting of 16 episodes and a 14+ age rating. The story begins when Kim Je-hyuk, a talented baseball player, is sentenced to one year in prison after getting into a fight. He's sent to prison, where he encounters a series of distinct and interesting characters, each with their own story and personality. As Je-hyuk tries to adapt to prison life, he befriends other inmates and develops special relationships with them. Each prisoner has their own backstory, struggles, and reasons for being there, and the series explores their lives before and during their time in prison.
