In this article, you will discover 5 doramas that continue to impact viewers in 2026 — whether for those who have never watched or for those who wish to relive memorable stories.
Why do old doramas still succeed?
Deeper and more human narratives
One of the main reasons explaining the continued success of these titles is how they address human emotions. Instead of just entertaining, they provoke reflection. Classic doramas tend to invest more time in the psychological development of characters, something that creates a real connection with the audience. This approach ensures stories remain relevant even years later.
Identification with Brazilian audiences
In Brazil, dorama consumption has grown significantly in recent years. According to streaming market data, Brazilian audiences have sought more sensitive and emotionally dense stories — exactly what these titles offer. Additionally, themes like inequality, family relationships, and internal conflicts directly dialogue with Brazilian reality, making the experience even more engaging.
Availability on streaming platforms
Another important factor is accessibility. Many of these doramas are available on popular platforms, allowing new generations to discover these stories. Services like Netflix and Rakuten Viki continue to invest in diverse catalogs, including established productions.
