Get to know the plot of the historical drama 'Bossam — Steal the Fate'
Bossam — Steal the Fate is a dramatic series that transports us to the Joseon Dynasty period, during the reign of King Gwang Hae. In this historical setting, widows faced a cruel fate: they were often kidnapped at night and forced to marry against their will. This macabre practice, known as "bossam", was a common procedure used by those who wanted to acquire a wife without her consent. However, the series focuses on a central character, Ba Woo (Jung Il Woo), who dedicates himself to kidnapping widows and delivering them to other men. The narrative of this drama takes shape when Ba Woo is unjustly accused of a crime he did not commit, forcing him to flee and hide since he was young. Growing up in conditions of extreme poverty, he is forced to develop a set of skills to survive in the most adverse situations. Now a hardened and reckless man, Ba Woo has developed a gambling habit and a propensity for getting into fights, and marriage is far from his plans. However, he doesn't hesitate to kidnap widows to meet the demands of other men eager to marry. Ba Woo's life takes a dramatic turn when he accidentally kidnaps the widow princess Soo Kyung (Kwon Yuri). Now, he finds himself in a complicated situation, as he needs to deal with the daughter-in-law of a declared enemy. The princess's presence in his life triggers a series of unforeseen events and puts his existence's path into question. Ba Woo faces the dilemma of deciding whether to pursue his old life and free himself from Soo Kyung or let himself be led down a new path, influenced by the princess's presence in his life. Bossam — Steal the Fate promises to explore not only the complexities of the protagonist and his choices, but also the historical context of the Joseon Dynasty, revealing the challenges faced by those who lived under its traditions and rigid social norms. The historical drama offers an engaging narrative filled with intrigue, drama, and moral dilemmas, while the characters struggle to find their destiny amid a setting marked by traditions and unforeseen transformations. The cast of 'Bossam — Steal the Fate' is a highlight of the series
