Daphne Bridgerton
Played by Phoebe Dynevor, Daphne Bridgerton is the eldest daughter of the family. Chosen as the season's diamond, she is one of the most desired women for marriage at her debut in English society.

Simon Basset
Regé-Jean Page plays Simon Basset, also known as the Duke of Hastings. Daphne's romantic interest, the duke, however, doesn't want a relationship or a family, which leads the two to make an agreement to keep away the matchmaking mothers and single ladies from the nobleman and attract more suitors for the season's diamond.

Anthony Bridgerton
Jonathan Bailey plays Anthony, also called the Viscount Bridgerton. Firstborn, he is responsible for leading the family after his father's tragic death. In the first season, one of his tasks is helping his sister, Daphne, find a suitor, which doesn't happen as planned. In the second year, he takes the lead alongside Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

Violet Bridgerton
Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmel) is the matriarch of the Bridgerton family and, alongside her son Anthony, responsible for guiding her children into adulthood with good marriages for both the girls and the boys. She is also known for having married for love (something rare at that time).

Eloise Bridgerton
Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jesse) is the second eldest daughter of the family, which puts her next in line to debut in society, right after her older sister's success. However, unlike Daphne, she doesn't want to marry and have children, but rather study and access some scandalous freedoms for women of that era.

Colin Bridgerton
Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) is the third son of the Bridgerton family and a close friend of Penelope Featherington, who harbors more than friendly feelings for him. With a great desire to travel the world, he falls in love, however, with Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker), a beautiful young woman newly arrived in town.

Benedict Bridgerton
Second son of the Bridgerton family, Benedict (Luke Thompson), unlike his siblings, carries artistic inclinations, which should gain more prominence starting in the second season.

Lady Danbury
Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) is one of the most interesting veteran characters from Bridgerton's first season. With a strong personality, she knows how to deal well with rumors and interests involved in these relationships, often putting characters in embarrassing and amusing situations. She also helped raise Simon when his father rejected him as a child.

Penelope Featherington
Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) is one of three daughters of the Featherington family. As her scandalous sisters are always seeking a husband, she has always been shyer and more reserved, preferring not to draw as much attention. She has a close friendship with Colin Bridgerton, for whom she harbors romantic feelings, and with his sister, Eloise.

Lady Whistledown
Despite being very important, this character doesn't appear, at least on screen. Lady Whistledown (Julia Andrews) is responsible for the gossip newspaper that circulates among the aristocracy.
