Caleb McLaughlin speaks about racism from Stranger Things fans

Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) is one of the original protagonists of Stranger Things alongside Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Jane 'Eleven' Hopper (Milly Bobby Brown), being present throughout all four seasons of the series.
And in recent statements, his star, however, details having felt different treatment from fans of the production over the years.

Caleb McLaughlin felt different treatment on Stranger Things
During his participation last Sunday, September 25th, at Heroes Comic Con Belgium (Via EW), Caleb McLaughlin opened up about his years on Stranger Things and commented a bit on the racism he experienced from fans of the production over the years.
In his speech, he details that at his first Comic-Con, fans of the series declined to spend time with the actor due to the fact that he is Black, justifying it only by saying it was because Lucas was mean to Eleven. Additionally, he also explains that when he was a child it was something that affected him greatly, especially regarding why he was the least favorite and had the fewest followers.
"At my first Comic-Con, some people didn't come to my line because I'm Black. Some told me, 'Oh, I didn't want to be in your line because you were mean to Eleven.' To this day, some people don't follow me or support me because I'm Black.
Sometimes, in other countries you feel the racism and intolerance. When I was younger, it really affected me because – this is a deep conversation now – you're like: 'Why am I the least favorite? The least amount of followers? I'm on the same show as everyone from season 1."
It's worth noting that racism is one of the conversations seen in the first three seasons of the series, especially Lucas's relationship with Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery), the racist brother of his girlfriend, Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink).
Fans are devastated by Stranger Things star's remarks
Undoubtedly, Caleb McLaughlin's statement has touched many around the world, but especially among fans of the production. On social media, various reactions from production enthusiasts have been circulating, with some showing themselves devastated by the actor's remarks, but also not surprised, as they claim to have already noticed favoritism toward white actors in Stranger Things.
For the fifth and final season of the series, Caleb McLaughlin's return is already confirmed as Lucas Sinclair alongside other main members of the production.
