
George R. Stewart is celebrated to this day for his science fiction masterpiece "Earth Abides", and now, fans of the genre have one more reason to celebrate. MGM+ has just announced that the book, which depicts the post-apocalyptic world following a global plague, will be adapted into a limited series.
The project will be helmed by creator and producer Todd Komarnicki, known for his work on "Sully", and will star Alexander Ludwig, the lead from "Vikings" and "The Covenant", as the protagonist. There had been rumors about the development of this adaptation, but now MGM+ officially confirms that six episodes will be produced to tell the story of the 1949 book.
